Big hit at the last soccer game – The whistles have a ball inside which ensures they actually make a nice sound. The strings are not tied but easy to do. I assume it’s so they don’t get tangled in the box or some kind of safety issue. At first I thought the strings were too short but they were perfect for kids and I was also able to get it over my head. My granddaughter felt like a star handing them out after the game
