Personal carry on – My son and I were traveling for his sporting event. I ordered two of these bags to carry as a personal item on American Airlines, in addition to our carry on luggage. My son packed two pair of cleats, indoor shoes, running shoes, and uniforms in his bag. This bag is roomy, lightweight and can easily store under the airplane seat. It has a compartments on either each side for water bottles, and two small zipped pockets. It has a sturdy detachable shoulder strap.

Decent quality for a backup or carryon bag. – Not checked bag durability, but if you want a back-up carry-on or a “personal item” bag for some airlines, this is the ticket. Material is durable. Stitching and handles seem sturdy enough. I have used this for air travel and car trips and no complaints. Don’t expect a structured valise. It is coated nylon and will take the shape of what’s inside, and if over packed, it will fail.
