Whistle – Nice whistle but not loud as I need it to be. being a fox 40 you would have thought it would sound a whole lot louder.

Awesome – Great for teachers, camp workers or just anywhere u have to share a whistle. I a pe teacher and love it. It has 3 different tones. I have to share my gym we are w different schools but attched and share lunch room and gym. We have a huge curtain to separate us, but he uses 1 setting and I use another so it doesn’t confuse the kids. Love this whistle. Best part no kids can put in thier yucky mouths on it!!!

Perfect for what i needed – During COVID we were required to wear masks while refing and the electronic whistle was a great replacement for the real thing.

solid whistle – i’m a referee for several sports and we need to wear masks while officiating currently. my only complaint with this whistle is the price tag. still, with the minor improvements over the cheaper version i bought i am glad i bought this one. unless you are a referee or coach i would suggest a cheaper version. i’m less worried the battery will fall out while i’m chugging down the field with this over a version 1/4th the price. the buzzing is similar enough to a blown whistle, but it’s clearly different. it’s loud even though i bet you could manage to blow a normal ref whistle louder if you needed to. if you need a louder whistle than this, you need to go for a whistle which isn’t allowed as a ref, because you won’t get much louder than this with a blown whistle. i wish there was a volume control, because if i’m right next to a player or officiating indoors i don’t want to blow full volume. still the whistle has good responsiveness so you can do small chirps which should be fine for ‘quiet’ mode. the button should be depressed, and it’s not. it’s very sensitive, so it’s a risk of hitting it by accident. at least you can turn it off and on without looking so that doesn’t happen. overall i think this is the best choice i could find for electronic whistles for referees if you don’t mind putting down the extra money to get those minor improvements over the cheaper whistles.

Works well – This is a good and loud whistle, which is great for a loud school. I can’t really hear a difference in the volume levels, but they all get the job done!

Fox 40 Electronic Whistle – I purchased this item for use on the firing range. Works well in windy conditions, with tone 3 being the clearest and most audible. I showed this to several of my coworkers and they are planning on purchasing some for themselves.

Great, Level 1 sounds best… – It works great; however, I kept unlocking where the battery goes. I suggest you think about putting a piece of tape over it to prevent yourself doing so.

More than just a game whistle – I bought this to train some Jack-A-Bee puppies I have. Why?? Because I am mute due to my vocal cords being removed as the result of cancer. (Can’t blow a whistle, even a match or candle out since I no longer breath through my nose or mouth) Prior to that it was very easy for me to train dogs, now I can and do use a series of hand claps for commands but if the dogs are a long distance away they can’t hear that soooooo. This thing is loud, has one high pitched tone (pretty loud) , one whistle like chatter tone, and one LOUD High Pitched tone. Using those I can set a series of commands for Come, Stay, sit, down, etc. I explained the above just in case there is someone else that could use it that way. Now the actual whistle review: It comes with no instructions so here goes. The 9 volt battery comes sealed in a very clear plastic film that I at first missed, So it didn’t work until that was removed. Haaa The battery door has a slide switch marked with an arrow for locking, pull it down to unlock the door, then lift the end the switch is on first, then slide it up and forward to release the bottom door tangs. It then comes off. Inside the battery contact points are marked + and -, make sure the battery terminals match those when inserting, and insert the bottom of the battery in the compartment first then the top. Then the bottom door tabs are inserted first, top then can be dropped flush and the door lock switch pushed up into the locking position. The on off and tone select switch is located on the side. All the way to the front is off, one click down loud solid tone, second click is the chatter or whistle sound third click down one LOUD Solid tone. I don’t know how long it will last but the price and out of the box performance has impressed me enough to order a backup. Also at 70 years old it’s fun learning a new skill. Haaa Hope this review helps someone.
