Seems Nice So Far – But Had To Google To Find Instructions – Mine worked when I received it. But there were no instructions included on how to set the clock, set the alarm, turn the alarm on and off and enable or disable the hourly chime feature. I tried to figure it out myself by playing around with it. Let’s just say the “how to” is far from self-evident. I had to do a Google search for “XL-013 instructions” in order to learn. I see in the reviews that many others had a similar challenge and apparently doing a Google search did not occur to them. I guess I am in the habit of turning to Google for possible solutions if something stumps me. My advice to the seller: if you are not in position to include instructions, why not enclose a small note saying “Google XL013 for complete instructions.”

Not as Promised – There were no written instructions. The main reason I got it for was for a stopwatch AND a timer. I figured out the stopwatch on my own, but there is no way to set a timer. Also, even to set the date and time…either that doesn’t work or it’s so complicated that without written instructions there’s no way to do it.

Good Cheap Timer – I got this timer to use when I practice my free-diving. I usually stay within 10m of the surface and have had no problems using this timer. It does beep occasionally and I can’t figure out how to get it to stop.

Not Water Proof – The description says waterproof. The timer says water-resist. It’s neither. I used it in the shower and kept it away from the shower stream. It quit working after a few days. I opened it up and dried it out. That’s right. There were droplets of water on the inside. It seems to be working again (for now?). I’m hesitant to take it in the shower again but that’s where I need it. Maybe if I am extra careful to keep it out of the shower stream and remove it after every shower it will continue to work.

Easy and accurate – Bought this for my soccer team’s knowledge for when to sub. Works well and more important is that it is easy to use. I’ve had two that were just plain glitchy in terms of moving from function to function.
